The software developer Cadence Design Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of Spectre 20.10.068 is an advanced circuit simulator that simulates analog and digital circuits at the differential equation level.

Here is a listing of some of the important updates made in the SPECTRE 20.1 release:

SpectreRF analyses in Spectre X
Spectre X now supports SpectreRF analyses and most of the Spectre analyses, such as PSS, harmonic balance, envelope, dcmatch, acmatch, sens, and pz.
Spectre X distributed harmonic balance analysis
The Spectre X distributed simulation supports harmonic balance analysis.
Note: The Spectre X distributed HB analysis flow requires a special license. To use this flow, contact your Cadence representative.
Spectre X in Spectre MS
Spectre X is now supported in Spectre MS.

Spectre XPS MS Changed to Spectre MS
The Spectre XPS MS product has been renamed to Spectre MS. There is no change in the use model. Spectre X is supported as the analog solver in Spectre MS.

Note: The licensing related to Spectre MS has also changed. Now, Spectre MS only checks out the licenses required for the analog solver (Spectre APS or Spectre X) and the additional licenses for the number of cores used in the simulation

As the industry’s leading solution for accurate analog simulation, the Cadence Spectre Simulation Platformcontains multiple solvers to allow a designer to move easily and seamlessly between circuit-, block-, and system-level simulation tasks. The foundation of the platform is a unified set of technologies shared by all of the SPICE engines-the parser, device models, Verilog-A behavioral modeling, input data formats, output data formats, etc.-thereby guaranteeing consistent and accurate evaluation methods regardless of the simulator selected.

Spectre RF Simulation option adds several new analyses that support the efficient calculation of the operating point, transfer function, noise, and distortion of common RF and communication circuits, such as mixers, oscillators, sample holds, and switched-capacitor filters.

Co-Simulate with Cadence Spectre
