Trimble has released an update (SP6) to Tekla Structures 2016i, a further development of the modeling software for steel-, timber and concrete buildings. Several new (and improved) functionalities have been added in release 2016i, most of which are inspired by Tekla users.

Compatibility This version is not backwards compatible. When you create or save a model in Tekla Structures 2016i, you cannot open it in older versions due to database differences.

About Tekla Structures 2016i In Tekla Structures 2016 the completely modernized interface was introduced with the renewed menu structured as a ribbon. The ribbon is intuitive, easy to learn and now in the newest Tekla version, users can customize the ribbon to their own preferences. By adding functionality to create unfold bent plates in the newest version, a long term wish of many users is fulfilled. Also, new functionalities for drawings are added and a special tool became available to generate STEP- and IGES-files in Tekla Structures.

New functionalities for (editing) drawings
In Tekla Structures 2016i, several new functionalities have been added to create and edit drawings. For example, images, reference models and functionalities of CAD can be added to a drawing. Also, a 2D library is available.
Generate STEP-/IGES-files
In Tekla Structures 2016i the enhanced Multi Converter tool is available, after it has been extensively tested by numerous cutting companies. The tool is used to generate STEP- and IGES-files with Tekla Structures.
