The Autodesk Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centre development team is pleased to announce the availability of FeatureCAM 2021, is CNC programming software that allows you to automate your CAM workflow to NC code.

The new features and enhancements in FeatureCAM 2021.

Simulation
You now have additional control when running a centerline simulation at slow speed. You can use the Stop button or the Escape key to stop the simulation in the middle of a tool-move. You can also use the view controls to rotate or zoom during the tool-move. Additionally, you can use other controls to pause, step forward or backward, or resume with playing the simulation. Simulation
– Fixed an issue in which machine simulation was incorrect for a bar-fed mill with a B rotation of the sub-spindle. FCAM-4722
– Fixed an issue in which centerline simulation showed an insert drill with an incorrect programming point when assigned to a slot in the lower turret. FCAM-4641
– Fixed an issue in which a very poor polygonalization of a boring bar was sometimes displayed when it used a custom solid holder. FCAM-4781

File import
– Updated to ATF version 9.2. FCAM-4760
– Fixed an issue that could cause FeatureCAM to close unexpectedly when importing certain IGES files created by CATIA. FCAM-4660

Tool database
– Fixed an issue in which a tool created from a curve and a solid could not be opened when using an SQL database. FCAM-4497
– Fixed an issue in which selecting specific tools when using an SQL database could cause FeatureCAM to close unexpectedly. FCAM-4731
– SPECIAL NOTE: In the 2018 release of FeatureCAM there was an option for setting the tool database to the "Autodesk Tool Data Service". This option was not available in the 2019 and 2020 releases of FeatureCAM, but if you had enabled it in the 2018 version, then the service still functioned. In a future update during the 2021 release, this compatibility will be disabled. If you are currently using "Autodesk Tool Data Service", please switch to one of the other tool database options. If you are using this option, it will be listed in the File > Database page of the Options dialog.

General
– Fixed an issue that could cause FeatureCAM to close unexpectedly in some cases when using an STL model as the stock. FCAM-4756
– Fixed an issue that could cause FeatureCAM to close unexpectedly for specific turning toolpaths. FCAM-4465
– Fixed an issue that could cause FeatureCAM to close unexpectedly when transforming specific toolpath edit features. FCAM-4591
– Fixed an issue that could cause FeatureCAM to close unexpectedly in some cases when using the Surface from Feature command. FCAM-4665
– Fixed an issue that could cause FeatureCAM to close unexpectedly when displaying the operation list in unusual circumstances after overriding specific parameters. FCAM-4683
– Fixed an issue that could cause FeatureCAM to close unexpectedly in some cases when computing a fillet between two surfaces. FCAM-4763

Milling
– Fixed an issue where certain surfacing toolpaths were failing to generate correctly when applied to models containing multiple parts. FCAM-4789
– Fixed an issue with surfacing Mill Cylinder Pattern Finishing toolpaths that were missing plunge and retract moves. FCAM-4721
– Fixed an issue with PartMaker Circle Mill simulations where the tool gouged through the part while retracting from the hole. FCAM-4741

Import
– Fixed an issue with importing .ipt files where they were coming in at 1/10 their original size. FCAM-4776
